You know what your truck payment is. You know what payroll costs every two weeks. But most business owners have no idea what their website is costing them.
Not the hosting bill. The customers who found you, looked around, and called someone else instead.
That number is hard to see, so I built a free website calculator that puts a dollar figure on it. It takes less than a minute, and you don’t need to enter an email to see your results.

What the calculator shows you
Answer 8 quick questions and you get three things:
How much more a better website could bring in each year, on top of what customers who find you online already bring in.
What every month of waiting costs you.
A score on the four things every website needs to turn visitors into calls, with a fix for each one that needs work.
Everything shows right on the screen. If you want a copy, enter your email and download your results as a PDF.
How the website calculator works
The first four questions are about your business. The last four are about your website.
What kind of business you run. This sets typical numbers for anything you’re not sure about.
How many new customers you get in a month.
How many of them find you online, through your website or Google.
What a typical job or sale is worth to you.
Four yes or no questions about your website, one for each of the checks below.
Not sure about a number? Tap “Not sure” and the calculator uses a typical figure for your industry. Your results tell you which parts are estimates.
Why it starts with customers who already find you
A better website doesn’t create visitors out of thin air. It turns more of the people already finding you into calls, bookings, and quote requests.
So the calculator starts with what those customers are worth today. Say a roofing company gets 10 new jobs a month, a quarter of them find the company online, and a typical job is worth $9,500. That’s about $285,000 a year coming from people who found them online.
If that roofer’s website has a few weak spots, the calculator estimates a better site could add about $77,000 a year on top of that. That’s roughly 2.5 more calls or quote requests a month, from people who were already looking.
The four things it checks on your website
These are the same four things I look at in every website teardown on my YouTube channel.
Clarity
Within a few seconds, can a visitor tell what you do, who it’s for, and why it matters to them? People decide almost instantly whether they’re in the right place. Here’s more on why people leave your website in the first 5 seconds.
Positioning
Does your website show why you’re worth choosing over a cheaper option? When your site looks like everyone else’s, people compare on price.
Trust
Does your site prove you’re the real deal, with reviews, case studies, or real photos of your work? Without proof, people hesitate and keep looking.
Action
Is it obvious how to take the next step, like calling, booking, or requesting a quote, from any page? People who are ready to hire won’t hunt for how to reach you.
Want to check these yourself in more detail? The 4-pillar website audit checklist walks through each one step by step.
How accurate is it?
It’s an estimate, not an audit. It uses your answers and typical figures for your industry.
It also stays conservative. Unbounce’s 2024 benchmark data shows the top quarter of professional services landing pages convert at 14.1% or higher, compared to a 6.1% median. That’s more than double. The calculator never assumes a better website adds more than 75%.
For exact numbers, track your calls and form fills in Google Analytics. Or book a free strategy session and we’ll go through your real numbers together.
What to do with your results
Start with the fix marked “Start here.” It’s the one most likely to be costing you calls right now.
Some fixes you can make in an afternoon, like rewriting the first lines of your homepage or moving reviews near the top. Others, like a site that doesn’t match the quality of your work, usually mean a redesign. Here are the signs it’s time for a website redesign.
Common questions
Is the website calculator free?
Yes. You see your full results and every fix without entering an email.
What if I don’t know my numbers?
Tap “Not sure” on any number question. The calculator fills in a typical figure for your industry and shows the result as an estimate.
How long does it take?
Less than a minute. It’s 8 questions, and most of them are one tap.
Does it work if my business isn’t local?
Yes. It works for any business that gets customers from its website, whether you serve Melbourne and Brevard County or customers nationwide.
Who built this?
I’m Mello, a web designer in Melbourne, FL. I build websites for established businesses whose site no longer matches the quality of their work.
